How to Deal With a Busybody - Understand Their Psychology #Haters
Step 1 For Effectively Dealing With a Busybody - Understanding "Busybody Psychology" i.e. what a busy body is and why busybodies act the way they do!
First, what is a busybody? A busybody is someone with a constant drive to do things and stay occupied or "busy" constantly. Busybodies are always on the move, always on the go, always want to know and be heard, gossipers in the extreme.
Busybodies cannot sit still for too long. They are meddlers who must constantly know or do something, most likely other that what they really should be doing!
The busybody's game is meddling and their ultimate aim (and downfall) is self-avoidance. They want to spend time on other people's problems and issues, rather than their own.
To understand a busybody, you must know why they act the way they do. You must understand the psychology of a busybody. This will help you to deal with them more effectively and will make life and work so much easier and understandable if it involves a busy body.
I've dealt with several busybodies in many places and had to learn many lessons to deal with them in a way where I could still make them an asset rather than a liability. Before I tell you how to do this, here are the top things about "busybody psychology" you must first understand:
- Understand that guilt and fear - found deep within their inner psychology - is often what drives someone to become a busybody
- Understand how busybodies view life, what their values are and how they justify those values in their response to challenges in life
- Understand how their guilt and fear causes busybodies to go overboard to try to meet what he or she perceives to be the best way to meet expectations (as opposed to what they really should be doing but are too self-blinded to see or hear - and oh can this can be utterly frustrating!)
- A busybody can be quite fanatical about certain things as he or she tries to uphold values to the end - no matter what!
- Their self-driven fanaticism unfortunately shows up in both the small and big things in everything they do in life, and everyone around them suffers for it, but busybodies can't see this because they're willfully self-blinded
- A busybody is often oblivious to his or her selfishness and other faults because of being so outwardly focused
- A busybody is concealing deep-seated fears, anxieties and guilt based on experiences he or she has had growing up
- Busybodies won't likely change their ways
- Their busyness keeps them from their greatest fear - the fear of facing themselves and confronting themselves, their true selves - and admitting where they fall short
- Busybodies are their own worst enemy as they continue to distract themselves in order to avoid confronting themselves and being true to themselves
- Busybodies act out more than stay reserved and are typically socialites and extroverts rather than introverts...in fact introversion would make them too self aware, so they run from it
- Their fear of boredom and a constant desire to feel good and be seen as a hero, drives them to continue and fuels their self-deception
- A busybody is so afraid of boredom, he or she would undoubtedly prefer to crawl out of his or her own skin rather than face the possibility of being bored or being confronted their true selves
- Sadly, should a busybody have any other issues, they'll be even more of a challenge to help and have a great difficulty changing their ways
- Finally - some busybodies indeed can be helped and/or dealt with effectively and I'll provide you with some tips based on my experiences in future articles
Again, busybodies act the way they do based on how they are motivated and how they grew up. They may have had some bad experiences that they continue to carry as baggage or perhaps they have deep seated fears and/or failures they never dealt with or overcame.
Busy bodies are often hiding something and can't truly be honest with themselves or others so they occupy themselves with everyone else's business and work to have an excuse for not facing their own issues and dealing with them effectively.
